Can stress cause eye pain? It certainly can, and you're not alone. We've all been there- whether it be a long day looking at the computer screen or just a stressful day in general, you're experiencing some serious discomfort in your eyes. Here are our top 10 tips from the vision experts at Vari Eyewear to help you ease the pain.
5 Ways to Relieve Stress induced Eye Strain
1. Hydrate
If you've had a busy or hectic day, chances are drinking water wasn't your top priority. If you feel as if your eyes are irritated (watery eyes, blurred vision, constantly itchy,) it's very likely you're dehydrated. Before doing anything else on this list, be sure to drink some water.
2. Adjust or Reduce the amount of Light
Whether you've been staring at a computer screen for a while or you work outside- excessive amount of light doesn't do any favors for someone with eyestrain. Wearing blue light protecting lenses or trying out the Väri Clipables Collection for those sunny days is a great way to reduce discomfort caused by light!
Often times light sensitivity is accompanied by sound sensitivity. If this is true in your case, purchasing a sleep mask and putting on headphones is a great way of limiting the amount of external stimulation causing you pain.
